TREVISO, ITALY: 2007

Treviso is a province in the Veneto region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Treviso.The province has an area of 2,477 sq km, and a total population of 795,264 (2001). There are 95 municipalities in the province. The province is replete with the amenities of the 21st century, situated within beautifully preserved renaissance settings just northwest of Venice and the Adriatic. It is noted for cultural, historical, gastronomical, manufacturing, agricultural, and ecological highlights.

The province of Treviso is one of Europe’s most dynamic growth regions. In addition to its art and history treasures, the province of Treviso is considered to be the most dynamic in Italy. Treviso and the Veneto region in which it is located have enjoyed one of Europe’s highest rates of economic growth. A large part of that growth can be directly attributed to the entrepreneurial efforts of the business community in developing international markets. For young professionals working toward an international career, this is unquestionably an important area to know and to understand.

The Province of Treviso takes in different areas with various caracteristics: mountains, hills and plain north to south. It goes from a few kilometers from the sea all the way up Mt.Grappa and the Cansiglio in the Prealps.

In the Province of Treviso there are many production companies, mainly small and medium size, specialised in the mechanical field, textile, furniture, construction and papermilling. The agriculture yelds white and red vintage wines and others typical products like the famous Radicchio rosso di Treviso (Red Treviso chicory). Traditional craftsmen still produce arms, bells, wrought iron, glasswork, ceramics, embroidery and fabric.
